INTERVIEW with JILLIAN STONE

Halloween is proving to be a busy day here at Supernatural Central. A double header, even. We're back again today to talk with Jilian Stone, who has a zombie adventure thriller she'd like to tell us about today.
You know there's trouble when there's a bloody Z, non? Here's what the book is about:
Survival tip #1: When you’re caught in the middle of the zombie apocalypse, get a badass partner.

The zombie apocalypse is on, and Lizzy Davis is determined to survive any way she can. As a surgeon, she’s used to saving lives; not cutting into the basal ganglia to make sure the patient stays dead. When the refugee camp is overrun by zombie hordes, Lizzy manages to escape only to run into Black Hawk pilot Chris Oakley in the middle of the Syrian Desert.
Lizzy and Chris fight off zombie attacks as they make their way toward a joint military air base northeast of Kirkuk. Just one problem, they’ll have to pass through the drone-patrolled DMZ— Dead Meat Zone. To get there, they form uneasy alliances with French-Arab commandos and a black ops interrogator who’s slowly rotting before their eyes.

Along the way, Lizzy and Chris manage to find time for each other—the sizzling red-hot lovemaking kind of time. And who knows? They might have a chance at love if they live long enough.
Warning: Features red hot to erotic love scenes

Jillian stopped by Supernatural Central today to answer a few questions for us.

SC:  Tell me a little bit about your main character in this book.

JS: Dr. Elizabeth Davis, or Lizzy, as she is called by friends and family, is used to saving lives not cutting into the basal ganglia to make sure the patient stays dead. When the refugee camp is overrun by a tsunami-sized horde of zombies, she finds herself alone, in the middle of the Syrian desert, armed with a slingshot and a machete. Lizzy is independent, adventurous, and resilient, but she doesn’t recognize those qualities in herself. Half the time, she thinks she’s a baby and a wimp. The men she meets on the run know better. Survival Rule #1: When caught in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, get a badass partner.
SC: We think rule #2 should be: Stay out of RV's. But that's just us. Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?

JS: I believe that we are nanoparticles away from being able to manipulate the physical universe. It’s like those puzzle pictures you run across with two images—one way you see an old hag, the other a young woman. All it takes is a subtle shift in how you process the visual information.
SC: I've read ahead, so that's a good lead in to my next question. . What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?

JS: I’m just finishing up a novella, WOLF, INTERRUPTED, which will be published as part of a shifter anthology in early 2017.
Thanks for stopping by, Jillian. If you'd like to know more about Jillian and her works, read below and visit her sites.

INTERVIEW with author COLETTE L. SAUCIER

You know what day it is…the spookiest, most fun day of the year. It's Halloween. So it's only fitting that we bring you something that involves vampires that are also kind of spooky. Up today is DEAREST BLOODIEST ELIZABETH, The Confession of Mr. Darcy, Vampire. (Book II) It is written by Colette L. Saucier, and falls into the Historical Paranormal Romance genre. So somewhere in this haunted day we need to find a little time for...love.

Judging by the cover, this vampire is going to be spending some time in New Orleans. Here's the storyline pour vous. (See that, see how I threw in some French?)

The Confession of Mr. Darcy, Vampire
Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy - elegant, dark, brooding...vampire. In Pulse and Prejudice, the definitive vampire adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic, the Master of Pemberley reveals his haunting tale of unquenchable desire and forbidden love.

His story continues in Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth, the lurid, lusty sequel to Pulse and Prejudice, as death shadows the newlywed Darcys from Pemberley to the parlors of Regency London to the courtyards of Antebellum New Orleans.  As Elizabeth discovers the trials and travails of marriage to a vampire, can Darcy ever believe that she loves him as he is?  Or will his jealousy tear them apart?

Note:  Pulse and Prejudice is not “fan fiction” but a complete stand-alone adaptation. No prior knowledge of Pride and Prejudice is required for full enjoyment of this remarkable novel.

On Sale Throughout October for $2.99

About the Author:

Colette Saucier began writing poems, short stories, and novellas in grade school. Her interest in literature led her to marry her college English professor, but eventually a love of history encouraged her to trade up to a British historian.
Technical writing dominated her career for twenty years, but finding little room for creativity in that genre, she is now a full-time author of fiction.

Pulse and Prejudice was named “A Most Inventive Adaptation” by Elle Magazine (April, 2016). It was the 1st Place Winner in its category in the 2013 Chatelaine Awards Romantic Fiction Contest and is listed in Chanticleer’s 2013 Best Book Listing. Colette dedicated 15 months traveling to Europe and Britain, researching Regency England and vampire lore and literature, to complete for historical accuracy. It remains faithful to nineteenth century literary conventions and Jane Austen’s narrative to create a compelling, thrilling paranormal adaptation.
Colette was selected a “2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award” Semi-finalist and named “Debut Author of the Year” by Austenprose for All My Tomorrows—now expanded and republished as The Proud and the Prejudiced—which was also chosen Austenesque Reviews “Favorite Modern Adaptation” 2013.
Colette’s romantic thriller Alicia’s Possession was the publisher’s #1 Bestselling Romantic Suspense for 4 straight weeks following its debut in June of 2013 and then again in January, 2014, after being voted a “Top Ten Romance Novel of 2013” (P&E Reader’s Poll). Colette is also the author of the controversial and erotic noir romantic suspense The Widow, an Amazon bestselling new release and Kobo bestseller.

Colette’s latest novel—Book II: The Confession of Mr. Darcy, Vampire—entitled Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth, follows the newlywed Vampire Darcy and his bride Elizabeth from Britain to Antebellum New Orleans. Due to her devotion to historical accuracy, she spent two years researching Creole Society and Nouvelle Orleans in the years following the War of 1812.

A bestselling and award-winning author under multiple pseudonyms, she is currently working on multiple projects including a parody of Wuthering Heights and a children’s book based on the inspiration for the dog Amadeus from Pulse and Prejudice and Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth.

Colette lives in a lakeside community in South Louisiana with her historian husband and their two dogs.

She adds a dash of scifi, a flourish of fantasy, enough humor to make you laugh out loud, and, occasionally, enough steam to make you squirm in your chair. Her heroines are independent femmes with flaws and minds of their own whether they are aliens, witches, demonologists, werewolves, hybrids, psychics, or past life therapists. Her heroes are hot and hunky, but they also have brains, character, and good manners... usually.
The rich characterizations come from being a lifelong student of behavior, casually, and a serious student of behavior academically. She also studied comparative religion, myths, and Dark Ages history.

Victoria lives in The Woodlands, Texas with her husband and a very smart, mostly black German Shepherd dog.

AT THE HEART OF THE STONE by Roxanne D. Howard

It's a busy day here at Supernatural Central with another book to talk about. Up now is AT THE HEART OF THE STONE, by Roxanne D. Howard. It falls into the Contemporary Romance/Paranormal Romance/Contemporary Fantasy genres. Here's a look at the cover.

Pretty steamy, non? What kind of tale did Roxanne D. Howard weave? Here's the book description:
Dreams are the perfect shelter for our fantasies, safe havens to step inside without changing our daily lives. For Lark Braithwaite, all that is about to change. During the last six months, Lark has dreamt of a mysterious Irish lover who knows what she wants and gives her exactly what she needs. In her waking life in busy London, things aren’t as ideal, as her long-term relationship with Charles, her controlling fiancé, has hit a dry spell.

When Lark is called home to Oregon for her father’s funeral right in the middle of a high-stakes corporate merger, she heads back to face the demons from her past. What she doesn’t expect is to meet her dream lover in the flesh. Niall O’Hagan steps straight out of her fantasies and right into her life, and the powerful connection they share rocks her foundation. Although she's dealing with the bitterness of being betrayed by Charles and his jealousy, Niall soon stirs Lark’s awareness of the superficiality of her existence and reawakens not only her sexuality, but her soul.

UP NEXT: Author eden Hudson

We're getting close to the end of the month and winding up a great October list of authors. Today we're talking about Jubal Van Zandt and the Revenge of the Bloodslinger by eden Hudson. It falls into the Urban Fantasy/Cyber Punk genre.

Here's what it's about:
Narcissist, sociopath, and shameless backstabber Jubal Van Zandt is the best damn thief in the history of the Revived Earth...and he won't shut up about it.

But not everybody in the swampy, soggy, feudal future approves of Jubal's vocation. The Guild—the religious fanatics who helped rebuild civilization after the collapse—in particular are waiting for their opportunity to slip the noose around his neck.
Which is why when the renowned Guild knight Carina Xiao—a.k.a. the Bloodslinger—contacts Jubal about an off-the-books job that violates Guild Law, he's too intrigued to say no. He is the best damn thief in the history of the Revived Earth, after all.

Part bizarro ecopunk, part outworld thriller, part odd-couple roadtrip, Jubal Van Zandt and the Revenge of the Bloodslinger is a 150% futurepunk quest for blood and betrayal across the Revived Earth.
eden (she likes the lower case "e") dropped by to chat with us a bit. Here's what she had to say:

SC: Tell me a little bit about your main character in this book.

eH: Jubal Van Zandt is the greatest thief in the history of the Revived Earth, and he likes to remind people of that—as well as how handsome, funny, and smart he is. He also happens to be the son of a notorious serial killer, and he’s completely incapable of feeling guilt or remorse, which has allowed him to get out of a lot of tight spots by throwing other people under the barge. By rights he shouldn’t become friends with Carina Xiao, a Guild knight with a record so shiny it puts commendations for honor and loyalty to shame, but they really hit it off. Hilarity, theft, slaughter, and sexy times ensue.
SC. Oviously at a blog called Supernatural Central we're big on um… the supernatural. Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?
eH:I believe there are plenty of things that we as a species don’t have the capacity to understand yet and maybe never will, but our understanding or lack thereof doesn’t affect the existence of those things. I believe in angels and demons and monsters and strange phenomena—and nobody wants to hear about your most recent unexplainable experience more than this eden right here. I’ll hang on every word. Unfortunately, I’ve never had any experiences of my own. Maybe I will someday.

SC: If you're open to it, I’m sure you'll get one soon. What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?
eH: Right now I’m working on the second book in Jubal’s series, Jubal Van Zandt and the Beautiful Corpse. I can’t say too much about it without Revenge of the Bloodslinger spoilers, but I can tell you that Jubal is going to have to team up with Carina—and her angry fiancé—to avoid becoming the titular gorgeous dead body.

About the Author:

I am invincible. I am a mutant. I have 3 hearts and was born with no eyes. I had eyes implanted later. I didn't have hands, either, just stumps. When my eyes were implanted they asked if I would like hands as well and I said, "Yes, I'll take those," and pointed with my stump. But sometimes I'm a hellbender peeking out from under a rock. When it rains, I live in a music box.

But I'm also a tattoo-addict, coffee-junkie, drummer, and aspiring skateboarder. Jesus actually is my homeboy.

eden came to us via Bewitching Book Tours. As usual, Supernatural Central did not receive any payola for this post. We just like to help authors spread their news.

Steele City Blues is the third book in the Hell’s Belle series, after Hell’s Belle (the first) and Tainted Blood (number two). She writes contemporary romance for a small press under the pen-name Jillian Sterling, and has a day job in entertainment publicity. She does not speak in the third person all that often.

Really.

INTERVIEW with RHENNA MORGAN

Can you believe the end of the month is almost here? What is it they say about coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb? They must be referring to spring, not fall, because this month is going out with an oh-my-my!

Today we have author Rhenna Morgan stopping by to talk about her book EDEN'S DELIVERANCE.  It falls into the contemporary/fantasy/romance category, and here's the cover to get you into the mood. It is the final book in her EDEN series.

Here's what lies in store for you:

Fate is the life we’re given. Destiny is what we do with it.
Captured as a child and forced into slavery by the Rebellion’s leader, Brenna Haven was raised in near isolation with the utmost cruelty. She knew nothing of kindness or compassion until Fate orchestrated her rescue. Finally free, she wants nothing more than to return to her home. To reconnect with her human family and live a simple, quiet life. But her newfound powers demand an entirely different future. One fraught with danger and a terrifying role in an ancient Myren prophecy.

A battle-hardened warrior and sworn bodyguard to the king, Ludan Forte wields a powerful, memory stealing gift. But his skill comes with a price. A torturous burden he’s hidden since his awakening over a hundred years ago. He never dreamed he’d find relief, let alone be tempted to forgo his vows to the king. Yet in Brenna’s sweet beguiling presence, the weight he bears is lifted. And when her role in the prophecy threatens her life, he’ll stop at nothing to keep her safe.

Rhenna stopped by Supernatural Central to answer our three fave questions. Here's what she had to say:

SC:Tell me a little bit about your main characters in this book.

RM: The hero and heroine from EDEN’S DELIVERANCE have been around since book one, UNEXPECTED EDEN, but they’re finally getting their time in the limelight! Ludan is a warrior and sworn somo (bodyguard) to the king. Throughout the series you see the brooding, fearless man with his gruff exterior and razor sharp skills, but it’s in the series finale that you learn what makes him this way.
To say that our heroine, Brenna Haven, has had a hard life would be the grossest of understatements. She was kidnapped at the age of eight from the human realm by the rebellion leader and forced into a life of slavery. It’s in book one that she’s rescued, but it’s not until EDEN’S DELIVERANCE that she finds true freedom in the arms of her gentle giant.

SC: Brenna sounds like quite the woman. As I guest on Supernatural Central, I have to ask you the question, do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?
RM: I believe that there’s much in this life we don’t know. Far more than what we can scent, see, touch, or hear. I wish I could say some jaw-dropping or brilliant experience makes me believe this, but the truth is it’s the little things experienced day-to-day that make me believe in more. Take, for instance, that spark of intuition we hear in our head--Which, by the way, spawned the idea of the Spiritu in the Eden Series. Or the creative magic that happens every time I sit down to write a new story. When I experience these tiny miracles each day, it’s hard not to believe there’s more to life than what we know of today.

SC: Speaking of spawning new ideas, what titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?
RM: I’m about to start book four in a new contemporary romance series I’ve signed with Carina Press. It’s the Haven Brotherhood series and features a group of men born from meager and dangerous beginnings who’ve risen above life’s challenges and live by their own set of rules. The stories are gritty, feature rich characters who overcome their own demons, and are off-the-charts steamy. Book one, ROUGH & TUMBLE releases mid-February!

Thanks for stopping by, Rhenna!

Rhenna Morgan writes for the same reason she reads—to escape reality.
A native Oklahoman with two beautiful girls and a fantastic husband, her resume reflects her passion for new experiences. Since graduating with a Bachelors in Radio, Television, and Film at Oklahoma State, she’s racked up positions ranging from on-air radio talent, skip tracer, and promotions director, to real estate agent, project manager, and business analyst.

Like most women, she’s got obligations stacked tight from dusk to dawn. That’s where the romance comes in. Reading, or writing, romance has been her happy place since she cracked the spine on her first Christine Feehan book years ago. Nothing thrills her more than the fantasy of new, exciting worlds, and strong, intuitive men who’ll fight to keep the women they want.
Whether it’s contemporary, paranormal, or fantasy you’re after, Rhenna’s stories pack romantic escape for the women who need it.

Interview wtih KATHRYN M. HEARST (Feast of Mercy)

Today Supernatural Central is bringing to you an Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance title, FEAST of MERCY, ORDER of the SINISTRA DEI Book Two by Kathryn M. Hearst. Today is all about immortal love.
The story goes like this:
An ancient feud. A threat from the Vatican. Two lovers caught in the middle.
Nick never wanted to live forever, and he certainly didn’t want to join the Order of the Sinistra Dei. Unfortunately, before he’s able to get used to the idea of immortality, the High Judge from the Vatican arrives in New Orleans to investigate the strange events of Fat Tuesday. If Nick doesn’t play his cards right, his forever could be a whole lot shorter.
Marin, a relatively new immortal, is forced to serve as assistant to the High Judge while he investigates the alleged crimes of those she holds most dear. She’ll do what she has to do to protect her clutch. However, her efforts bring her closer to facing the executioner’s blade.
As their world spins out of control, Marin and Nick struggle to reconcile past hurts and hold onto their budding relationship. New enemies, new abilities, and new desires threaten to tear them apart. It isn’t long before they realize love can’t heal all.
Loving someone means you want the best for them...but what happens when what’s best isn’t you?
Feast of Mercy is the second book of the Order of the Sinistra Dei series, an Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance like no other. If you like mysterious supernatural creatures, conflict-ridden romance and a lot of heat, then you’ll love this series.
Kathryn took some time to visit with Supernatural Central. Here's today's talk:

SC: Tell me a little bit about the main characters of this book.
KH: The main characters in “Feast of Mercy” are Nick and Marin. Their story starts in the first book in the Order of the Sinistra Dei series, “Feast of the Epiphany,” where they meet, hook-up, and break-up as told through another character’s eyes. These two are a ton of fun to write. They’re new immortals, but come at things from different angles.
Marin reacts from an emotional level and cares almost too much.  She has a quick temper, quicker mind, and a mouth that gets her into trouble. She lived a difficult life as a human and has struggled to fit in with the immortals in New Orleans. Marin wants a family, a chance to prove herself, and to fall in love.
Nick’s cocky, laidback, attitude complements and frustrates Marin. He loved his mortal life. Who wouldn’t? He was raised by two powerful immortals and had all the money, women, and toys his heart desired. Nick had no desire to become immortal, not when the immortals were slaves to the rules of the Church. He’s fiercely loyal to his family and has a strong moral code—though he chooses to ignore it often. Since his imbuing, Nick finds himself the little fish in a big pond. His confidence is shaken and new responsibilities weigh on him.
“Feast of Mercy” is the story of two people stepping up and doing what they have to do to save the people they love, even if it means losing them in the end.
SC: I think I might know Nick. But I digress. Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?
KH: I’ve always felt there was more to this world than the physical. People are made of matter and energy. Neither of these can be destroyed, but they can change forms. Who’s to say what form we will take after our physical bodies die?
I also believe in the paranormal because of the commonalities in myths and spiritual beliefs throughout recorded history. If there are no such things as angels, why has every culture since the Sumerians believed in winged beings? Or vampires? Or blood as a sacred life-giving substance? The Order of the Sinistra Dei series includes three of my latest obsessions: Catholic mysticism, ancient “vampire-like” creatures, and the Sumerian Annanuki.
I’ve had several diverse experiences with the paranormal, most  of which fall into the category of intuition, like knowing who’s calling before I answer the phone. One morning, I was drifting in and out of sleep and someone or something spoke to me. I rolled over and told my husband what I’d heard, “You aren’t alone. I’m with you. I’ll get you through this.” I couldn’t shake the feeling that something terrible had happened or would happen. Late that afternoon, I received a call that my father had a heart attack.
SC: Catholic mysticism, that ought to be worth a volume or two. What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?
KH: I just finished final edits on “Twelve Spirits of Christmas,” the sequel to my Kindle Scout winning novel,
“The Spirit Tree.” It releases on November 8th.  I’m up to my eyeballs in “Feast of All Souls,” book 3 in the Order of the Sinistra Dei series. This book continues the story of the New Orleans immortals, and features Joliette and Lysander.
My website is the best place to learn more about my books. I’ve included the first chapter of my published novels on my blog.
SC: We'll be sure to do that! We've listed all your contact info in this blog so that people can learn even more about you and your work. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and chat. It always makes things more interesting around here when authors do.
